My Magic Prophecy opens with Inthu, a young fortune-teller haunted by recurring dreams of Thapfah, who is the older brother of his best friend, Dao. Thapfah is a doctor who has no faith in fortune-telling. They embodied their characters so completely that I didn’t see “Jimmy and Sea” anymore—I saw P’Thap and Nong In.
